light

Today, Farm Hill fifth graders were excited to welcome Andrew from the Eli Whitney Museum, who led an engaging, hands-on workshop called Light Is Quicker Than the Eye. The interactive session gave students the opportunity to explore how light works, how it interacts with our eyes, and what happens when movement is added into the mix.

During the workshop, students discussed key science concepts related to vision and perception, then applied their learning by building their own Light Is Quicker Than the Eye projects. By experimenting with light and motion, students were able to see firsthand how our eyes and brains interpret what we see—sometimes faster than we even realize. Families are encouraged to ask their child about what they built and what they learned from this experience.

We are incredibly grateful for the many enrichment opportunities made possible through our Reaching Beyond the Classroom Grant, which allows our students to learn through meaningful, real-world experiences like this one. Thank you to the Eli Whitney Museum for bringing science to life for our Farm Hill students!
