September 29, 2025 – Farm Hill School
Farm Hill School is excited to announce it has once again been selected to participate in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP), a federal initiative aimed at promoting healthy eating habits in schools. The program provides funding to offer students a variety of fresh produce snacks during the school day.
Through this grant, Farm Hill students will receive pre-packaged fresh fruits and vegetables each weekday. Some of the healthy snacks on the upcoming menu include apples, mixed berries, grape tomatoes, cucumbers, and yellow and green squash.
“These daily snacks give our students a chance to explore new tastes and develop lifelong healthy habits,” said Principal Mrs. Calabrese. “We encourage every student to at least give each snack a try—you never know, they might discover a new favorite!”
Snacks will be distributed either between breakfast and lunch or following lunch, depending on each classroom's schedule. While every student will receive a snack, participation in eating it is optional.
As always, student safety is a top priority. School Nurse Jaime will continue to monitor all allergy information closely to ensure that all snacks are safe for students with dietary restrictions.
The program is expected to continue throughout the school year.
