🚤 5th Grade CT River Museum Field Trips
🚤 Over the course of the last couple of weeks, each of our Fifth Grade classrooms went on a Field Trip to the Connecticut River Museum. These trips are not just our Farm Hill students, but include students from other classrooms across the state. Farm Hill 5th  was once again given the opportunity to participate in the Reaching Beyond the Classroom Grant where classes from different schools are partnered up with another class from another school in the state. Together, throughout the whole school year, these classes will go on field trips to various locations, often taking part in hands on experiments and experiences, that support our fifth grade curriculum.Â
This particular trip to the CT River Museum included both a classroom experience where students used the Scientific Design Process to clean up their "River in a Jar" from pollutants that are in the CT River. Additionally, students were able to board the RiverQuest boat and take a trip up the CT River, observing the habitats and ecosystems of many living things in and along the river. So many Bald Eagles were seen on our trips!
Reaching Beyond the Classroom (https://reachingbeyondtheclassroom.org/student-programs) is an organization that helps bring together students from Hartford, Middletown, Andover, Scotland, and Sprague. The students thoroughly enjoyed this experience, connecting with students from another school and learning more about Science as it relates to our very own CT River!Â
